Bless the world

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

Romans 12:14 (NASB)

Human beings are the only creatures in existence that have the ability to live in the spiritual realm and the physical realm simultaneously, 100% of the time.  We are created in God’s image. We are spiritual beings living in a physical world. Everything physical is temporary, by every means of the word.

What is the significance of this?  God created us as His image bearers and placed us in this physical world to rule and influence this physical world with His Creative power.  One of the most effective ways to do this is by blessings your world and the people around you.

This world has been cursed by sin and the effects of sin are destroying everything.  Relationships are being destroyed; land, time, everything God created is negatively influenced by sin.  God called us to bring His Kingdom of redemption and sanctification into a world that is in desperate need of healing.

This is why God wants us to bless everything.  By blessing things and people around you, you become a water faucet that sprinkles God’s glory and life onto a dying world.  You bring that what is in the heavens into the physical and you bring God’s Kingdom into this world.

More than that, you become a hose that acts as a channel for His Spirit to flow through.  Whenever you bless something, you open yourself up to become the hose which God can flow through.  No blessing can flow through you without influencing you directly.

The same with cursing.  You become the channel of the curse and you end up being cursed yourself.  But when you bless, you end up being blessed.

You are a powerful force in this world, created by God to destroy evil and spread His Glory.
